Slovak Document Acquisition
Official documents we assist with:
- Birth certificate (Rodny List)
- Marriage certificate (Sobasny List)
- Death certificate (Úmrtný List)
- Czechoslovakian passport - (Only for post-1918 arrivals)
- Confirmation of Czechoslovak Nationality
Fees & Payment:
- Service fees are prepaid and non-refundable.
- We make every effort to obtain records, but archives may issue a negative response due to missing, incorrect, lost, or destroyed records.
- If a record cannot be located, we will provide proof of the request and a negative response.
- You pay the document cost only if the record is successfully obtained.
Service Fees (per ancestor):
- €50 – first document from an archive
- €25 – each additional document from the same archive (for a different ancestor)
Separate archive requests:
- €50 – first document
- €25 – each additional document (different ancestor)
Examples:
- Two ancestors, same village/timeframe/year/archive: €75
- Two copies of the same record for the same person: €50
- Two ancestors, same village but different archives (generally due to different years): €100
Additional Costs:
- Document fee: €7–15 per document (due after the record is located)
- Shipping: €67 via DHL
- Shipping can be avoided if using Iveta Červeňaková for translations; documents will be bundled and shipped once translations are completed.
Processing Time:
- Allow up to 2 weeks for us to begin work.
- Archives have 30 days to respond from the time they receive our request.
- Registry offices may take an additional 30 days to issue the document once they receive the extract from the archive.
- We will contact you upon receiving a response. Please allow 90 days for processing.
