In the US, the CBD submission process requires you to submit your application at the consulates in New York or DC, depending on your state of residence. Due to the heightened interest in obtaining CBD, both consular offices are currently experiencing significant backlogs. As a result, applicants may have to wait over 6 months for an appointment date. However, if you are flexible, you can expedite your Slovakia citizenship application by choosing to travel to Slovakia for appointments, allowing you to submit your application much sooner.
Please read the information below to see if this option is a good fit for you.
Do not make travel arrangements to Slovakia for appointments related to your Slovakia citizenship application until you have a confirmed booking. The Slovak appointment scheduling system does not allow us to select from a calendar of dates and times; instead, it automatically offers the earliest available appointment, which is often within seven (7) days. Accordingly, applicants must be prepared to travel to Slovakia on short notice, with as little as one week’s advance notice, especially during the CBD submission process.
The CBD submission process for the Slovakia citizenship application typically requires attendance over multiple days—generally one appointment on the first day and a second appointment on a different day. You should not expect to complete all submissions in a single day. Travel to Slovakia for appointments is necessary at our current partner offices in Zilina, Banská Bystrica, Košice, and Prešov. Please note that we do not service Bratislava or Trnava.
The timeframe can vary from as little as 3 days to as many as 14, depending on appointment availability for the CBD submission process or your Slovakia citizenship application, especially if you need to travel to Slovakia for appointments.
When completing the request form for your Slovakia citizenship application, you must provide specific date ranges for your availability. This way, we can monitor your upcoming availability, especially if you need to travel to Slovakia for appointments related to the CBD submission process. Examples include: "The week of August 25th", "The entire month of October", or "Anytime in March or April".
The service fees for the Slovakia citizenship application are as follows: Scheduling and coordination of appointments & document review: 300€, which includes the scheduling and coordination of your appointments, administrative tasks associated with the CBD submission process in Slovakia, and final document review. A 50€ discount is applied for full-service clients of Jamieson Consulting Firm LLC. This fee is due at the time your appointments are confirmed. In-person interpretation services for both appointments: 250€ per appointment, which covers travel time and up to 1.5 hours of interpretation, whether it involves waiting or physical interpretation. Each additional 30 minutes is billed at 25€. For example, if your appointment time is at 1 pm and you are called into the office at 2 pm, that is one hour. Then, once in the office, it takes one hour to complete your appointment, totaling two hours, and an additional 30 minutes, making your cost for that one appointment 275€. Keep in mind that there are two appointments when submitting your application in Slovakia. They are usually not on the same day but typically within a day or two of each other. Each appointment is different, so we cannot provide an estimate of the total cost. The initial 500€ for interpretation services is due at the time your appointments are confirmed. The additional fees for extra time are due at the time services are rendered. These fees are non-refundable. The exact fee is determined by the number of days and hours the interpreter will be needed, especially if you need to travel to Slovakia for appointments.
